What is File Transfer Protocol (FTP)?
One of the awesome features offered by Doba is the option to set up a File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
What is an FTP? A File Transfer Protocol gives you all of our Doba Inventory into a .csv file all at once, which negates the need to export multiple products at a time. It also updates every 4 hours so the products you see on there will always be up to date on things like: Title, Description, Discounts offered, Pricing, Stock, etc.
Currently, Doba only offers the FTP in our Doba Product .csv and .xslx format, Bigcommerce format, and Shopify format. We will eventually be adding more format options, but at this time you may only pick 1 of the 3 available.
We also offer the option to receive our entire Doba product catalog in a .csv file through the FTP client, or to receive your inventory products in a .csv file through the FTP.
When using the FTP you will need to download an FTP client through your web browser. If you have never used an FTP client before, the best client to use that is free to download is FileZilla. You can find the download option by going to www.FileZilla.com
After you have downloaded FileZilla, and your FTP has been set up by a Doba representative,
you will need to enter the following information up at the top to login to your FTP
- Host: ftp.retailer.doba.com
- Username: your login email on Doba
- Password: your login password on Doba
- Port: 21
Once you login to your FTP, you will see 3 file options:
Personal Curated Lists - Curated lists created personally for you. The curated lists offered to everyone will not be shown on your personal FTP account.Updated Info - Our entire catalog listed in a .csv format. This should only need to be opened and unzipped once. To view header explanations & examples click HERE
Price Inventory & Status Updates - Updates of all the items selected within your inventory tag lists
.
Depending on your selection, our FTP will update accordingly.
Due to the amount of products in our catalog, if you choose to have the entire catalog pulled for your FTP, you will see updates every Monday.
If you have chosen to have your inventory tag lists pulled for your FTP, you will see updates every 4 hours.
