Why Was I Charged by Doba?
Learn the most common reasons for a Doba charge and how to quickly tell whether it came from your subscription, renewal, upgrade, or an order.
If you noticed a Doba charge and are not sure what it is for, the charge usually falls into one of four categories: a trial converting into a paid subscription, an automatic renewal, a plan upgrade, or an order-related payment.
The fastest way to identify the charge is to check whether it came from your Pricing Plan area or your Purchase Orders area.
Quick answer: Most unexpected Doba charges are tied to your subscription or a recent order. Start by checking Pricing Plan first, then Purchase Orders if the charge is not explained there.
The 4 most common reasons for a Doba charge
1. Your trial converted into a paid subscription
New users must subscribe to use Doba's services. Doba offers a $0.99 trial so sellers can explore the platform before moving to a regular plan.
If your trial period ended and the plan continued, the charge you see may be your paid subscription starting after the trial.
What to check: Look in Pricing Plan to confirm whether your trial ended and your paid plan began.
Important: The $0.99 trial fee itself is not refundable. If you do not want the subscription to continue, you need to cancel before the trial period ends.
2. Your plan renewed automatically
If you already have an active subscription, your charge may be a scheduled renewal. Doba's subscription management flow allows you to cancel immediately or at the end of the billing cycle, which means renewal timing matters.
What to check: Review your current plan, renewal date, and billing cycle in Pricing Plan.
3. You upgraded your plan
If you recently changed plans, the charge may be tied to an upgrade. Doba directs users to the Pricing Plan section to choose a new plan and upgrade from there.
What to check: Confirm whether you recently changed plans or selected a higher-tier option in Pricing Plan.
If you were expecting a downgrade instead, keep in mind that Doba's FAQ says you should cancel the current plan first and then subscribe to the plan you want.
4. The charge is tied to an order, not your subscription
Not every Doba charge is a membership fee. Some charges are related to orders placed through Doba, including product costs, shipping-related costs, or optional after-sales protection services.
What to check: Open Purchase Orders and compare recent order payments, returns, refunds, or claims activity.
How to identify your charge in 2 minutes
- Open Pricing Plan and check for an active trial, paid plan, renewal, or recent plan change.
- If the charge is not explained there, open Purchase Orders and review recent order payments.
- If you recently submitted a return or refund request, check the Refund area for related order activity.
- If you cannot complete a billing check because of password issues, reset your payment password before trying again.
